Q: Do you offer “Aluminum Oxide Finishes” on your flooring?

A: Yes. Unless otherwise indicated, ARK FLOORS products are finished with nine coats of eco-friendly, long wearing, UV finish with aluminum oxide, which is permeated into each plank for lasting beauty.

Q: Will my floor change color?

A: Like fine wine, most exotic species will “age” (darken) over time. Though our finishes are extremely durable they are still sensitive to UV Rays. Prolong exposure to sunlight will slightly discolor the floor and we suggest moving area rugs, etc. during the first few months after installation to ensure the floor darkens evenly.

Q: What type of cleaner should I use on my floor?

A: Ark recommends Bona products for urethane finish floors and WOCA products for our true oil finishes. Q: What should NOT be used for ongoing maintenance of pre-finished floors?

A: Water, wax, furniture polish, soap, lemon oil, vinegar mineral spirits and any other cleaning agent or household product not recommended in ARK’s Care and Maintenance instructions. These will damage the coatings and result in the loss of warranty coverage.

Q: What do you mean by glue down, nail down and click system?

A: Glue down, nail down and click are methods used to install flooring. Glue down is the act of using flooring adhesive to glue the flooring to the sub-floor, used mainly for installations over concrete slabs. Only engineered planks can be glued down. Engineered floor also can be stapled down, glued or nailed to sub-floors. All of our solid planks require the floor to be nailed down to the sub-floor using flooring nails (not staples).

Q:  What type of warranty does Ark offer?

A: Ark offers a 25 year residential / 3 year light commercial warranty for all products that have been installed and maintained as per our specific instructions.

Q:  I see some sites offering ARK Floors for purchase online. Does the warranty still apply?

A: ARK’S WARRANTY IS NULL AND VOID FOR ANY ARK PRODUCT PURCHASED FROM AN INTERNET SITE THAT IS NOT RELATED TO AN ARK AUTHORIZED DISTRIBUTOR OR DEALER/STORE. ARK DOES NOT SELL PRODUCTS DIRECTLY TO INTERNET COMPANIES, THEREFORE OUR WARRANTY DOES NOT APPLY TO PRODUCTS SOLD BY SUCH ENTITIES.
